Day 1 - Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu

Arrive at Paro Airport and complete the entry formalities. Meet the arranged transfer representative and continue by private vehicle to Thimphu. The drive introduces the valley landscape and the style of Bhutanese buildings along the route. On arrival, check in to the hotel and take time to settle in after the journey.

If the flight arrival and local visitor hours allow, visit the National Memorial Chorten. Observe the prayer wheels and the clockwise movement of worshippers, with an explanation of the monument’s purpose. Keep the visit calm and unhurried. A late flight may require this stop to be moved or omitted from the arrival-day programme, with the final sightseeing arrangements agreed accordingly.

Where time remains, take a short walk in town before returning to the hotel. The evening is free for dinner and rest; dinner is not included in the published package.
